PHP / MySQL Developers
Jely is looking for PHP/MySQL Developers to assist with the ongoing development of our Jely line of social media products. The PHP/MySQL Developer will work with the company principals to upgrade current infrastructure, develop new feature sets and provide input to the development team. Experience in browser compatibility and WC3 compliance is important.
Responsibilities:
* Contribute architecture for new system components, upgrade current infrastructure as needed, etc.
* Develop new product features with PHP/AJAX/JavaScript/HTML
* Optimize and enhance Jely features for server efficiency and user performance
* Document changes in the code and update company wiki
Requirements:
* 5+ years modular web development experience with PHP, MySQL and Javascript in a Linux environment
* 2+ years experience with AJAX
* Experience with APIs such as Yelp, Twitter, Facebook, Meme
* Excellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills
* Strong initiative – capable of working on a self-sufficient basis and identifying areas of potential technical improvement
* Detail oriented with the ability to work in a telecommuting environment (Email, Skype, etc.)
* Problem solving – ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues
* BS (or higher) in computer science or similar degree program

CSS/UI Designer
Jely is looking for a CSS/UI Designer to assist with the layout and styling of our Jely line of social media products. The CSS/UI Designer will work with the company principals to shape the UI/UX, style the PHP/HTML pages with hand-coded CSS tags. Experience in browser compatibility and WC3 compliance is important.
Responsibilities:
* Hand-code CSS for site
* Style PHP and HTML pages written by the development team
* Layout pages as designed by the principals and make suggestions for changes that enhance UI/UX
* Update corporate wiki with project changes and updates
Requirements:
* Knowledge of Web Design/HTML architecture
* Superb graphical arts talent with demonstratable online portfolio and front-end web examples
* Strong initiative – capable of working on a self-sufficient basis and identifying areas of potential technical improvement
* Detail oriented with the ability to work in a telecommuting environment (Email, Skype, etc.)
* Excellent innovation and troubleshooting skills
* Programming Languages – HTML/XHTML and CSS required (including but not limited to hand coding)
* Skilled in FTP, BBEdit (or other code development tool)
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Skilled in Adobe Fireworks (optional)
* BA (or higher) in Graphic Arts, Communication or similar degree program
