About UsJely is a web-based travel app that helps Twitter users on the go tweet about their locations.
Cities, States & Countries – You can build a custom shortened URL to use on Twitter for any city, state or country in the world. Just type it into the search box and find your location and Tweet it! Stomach – Hungry for pizza in Pittsburgh? Hankering for sushi in Seattle? Type in what you are looking for and where you are looking for it. Try it out by typing in pizza and your ZIP code. Outdoors – If you are a hiker or any kind of outdoor kind of person, you can use Jely to tweet your latitude and longitude. It is great for Geocaching or letting your friends know EXACTLY where you will be camping. And that is just our first release. We are hard at work on Release 2 which includes even more real-time geolocation search options. Jely is the group effort of three individuals who work strange hours and drink too much coffee. Steven is our coding guru, database visionary and security chief. If it deals with technology, he is the man. He began his IT career at the age of 6 years old. By high school, he had developed a successful multimode BBS running out of his bedroom. Sometime after gym class, he was snapped up by a global device software optimization company and was given responsibility for Information Technology Operations for Europe to Africa, to the Middle East and beyond to Central and Eastern Asia. His next step? Jely and Planet Earth. When not loosing sleep to the antics of his two psychotic cats, David Stein makes sure the operation runs smoothly. David has a great reputation in the Bay Area for efficiently managing non-profits and the skills he acquired to run organizations with no money seemed like a perfect fit for us! If there is something the staff needs, he scrounges it. But being ultra competent and highly efficient has drawbacks. For example, we have saddled him with the responsibility of handling all the mind-numbing paperwork that is required to run a business. He loves fine print – the rest of us pretends it doesn’t exist. As for the graphic design, advertising and marketing plan and the jellyfish fetish craziness, all of that is the brainchild of Storm Bear Williams, an over-caffeinated and over-opinionated blowhard living in the San Francisco Bay Area. |
